Don’t Touch Me
Regardless of who we are, where we come from, what we look like and what our sexual preference is, no man has the right to harm us. Any form of intimidation, discrimination, harassment and violence is unacceptable. In this performance I fight for equality, acceptance and symbolize the power of women. The 10 minutes performance is supported with a sound which is composed by Gaurav Godkhindi, an Indian producer and composer.
In a patriarchal capitalist system in which the «male» and the «female» are not considered equal, we are the ones exposed to sexism, discrimination, stereotyping and violence in the workplace, in education, on the street, at home and in state institutions. We are victims of specific oppression because of our skin colour, our social background, our situation as mothers and grandmothers, our impairment, our sexual orientation and gender identity.
